Broadgate Speakers in the City

Upcoming Roles

All the many varied meeting roles are performed by our members. At each meeting we encourage our members to undertake a different role as each will develop their public speaking, listening and leadership skills.

The roles at our meetings range from the timekeeping, to hosting the evening as the Toastmaster, or delivering a speech.

If you are a club member and would like to book yourself onto a role, please see the booking schedules in Club Plan.

Whilst every effort is made to provide speaking slots for members within a reasonable timescale, Broadgate Speakers is a popular club so we do appreciate your patience. However, should you wish to fast-track to attain Competent Communicator (CC), Competent Leader (CL) or Advanced Communicator (AC) status, you may wish to consider:-

- Keeping a prepared speech in your pocket ready to be called upon in case of speaker cancellation (see note below). The Vice President Education puts together the programmes for each meeting.

- Joining the reserve list of speakers held for each meeting.

- Approach other London clubs to request a speaking slot (in return for acting as a functionary at another meeting). However, as we do like to know our members well, please deliver at least speeches 1, 2, 9 and 10 at Broadgate Speakers!
